1:1 Sessions

Personalised support to help your young person feel calmer, more confident, and in control.

Untangling Their World

Growing up today comes with so many pressures. When anxiety, self-doubt, and overwhelm take over, it can feel impossible for young people to manage it all.

Do they:

  • Struggle with schoolwork, exams or the pressure to ‘keep up’?
  • Doubt their abilities, whether in academics, friendships, or hobbies?
  • Feel anxious or frustrated but don’t know how to handle big emotions?
  • Worries about being judged or misunderstood, always trying to meet expectations?
  • Feel stuck about their future, unsure of what truly excites or motivates them?

This is where I can help

There are SO many areas we can work on…

The most common are:

  •  School work and exam stress
  • Unhelpful habits
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Friendships and relationships
  • Identity and belonging
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Low mood and depression
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Goals and future planning

and so much more!

Tailored 1:1 Support

My sessions provide a compassionate, personalised space where your young person can feel seen, heard, and supported.

Each session is tailored to their age, interests and attention span, creating an approach that works for their unique brain.

Using a blend of executive function coaching, mindfulness, and Hypno4Children™ techniques, I help them to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and regain a sense of control over their thoughts, emotions, and daily life.

They’ll walk away with a personalised toolbox of strategies they can use long after our sessions, helping them to:

  • Feel more in control of their emotions and reactions
  • Manage stress and anxiety in a way that works for them
  • Build confidence and inner self-belief
  • Create healthier habits and coping mechanisms
  • Develop a sense of purpose and motivation

How Executive Function Coaching Can Help

Executive function skills are the brain’s ‘control centre’ – helping us to get stuff done while managing time, staying organised, regulating emotions, filtering distractions, controlling impulses and adapting to an ever-changing environment.

For young people, these skills are still developing, which can make life’s demands feel overwhelming, especially for those who experience anxiety or are neurodivergent.

Executive function coaching can help your young person to:

  • Understand their brain and why certain challenges feel harder
  • Develop practical tools for managing school, emotions, and social situations
  • Build confidence in their ability to handle life’s ups and downs

How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, effective approach that works with the subconscious mind to reduce anxiety, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.

Using imagination games and visualisation techniques, I help young people:

  • Shift unhelpful thought patterns
  • Boost confidence and self-belief
  • Manage stress, fears, and phobias
  • Improve sleep and relaxation
  • Feel calmer and more in control

As an accredited Hypno4Children™ Practitioner, I offer:

  • The MindHack system – helping to reduce anxiety, build emotional resilience, and create a personalised toolbox for wellbeing.
  • The StudyCalm package – providing stress-free strategies for school, revision, and exams, helping them to study smarter and perform at their best.

Support for adults too!

While my work with young people is at the heart of Brilliant Brains Lab, I also offer 1:1 sessions for adults.

Kind Words

“My daughter age 9 was finding the transition to Y5 tough and was struggling with noise, organisation and navigating friendship issues. Kate helped my daughter with a range of techniques to find calm and see the positives around her and the good in herself. My daughter’s ability to calm herself and her confidence have benefited enormously. In the words of my daughter “Kate is really nice and she has fun methods”.”

ARIANA

“Thank you sooooo much for the session on Wednesday. We were astonished when he used the technique again by himself last night, and it has been so helpful.”

SOPHIE

“I couldn’t thank you enough for your support and helping me move some issues forward and learn new ways to cope.”

WILL

“Kate is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about her. She has worked with my daughter for about a year and I have seen such a transformation from an anxious, unhappy child to a child that feels relaxed, confident in who she is and able to deal with situations calmly. Kate has given my daughter many tools to use and the personal meditations have been brilliant. I am so grateful that we found Kate and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She has literally changed our lives for the better.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 1:1 coaching like at BBL?

1:1 coaching at BBL offers personalised support tailored to your child’s specific needs. Through executive function coaching and advanced hypnotherapy, I help young people navigate anxiety, overwhelm, and other challenges. Each session is designed to provide tools and strategies that are aligned with your young person’s unique brain, focusing on emotional resilience, confidence-building, and stress management.

How can 1:1 coaching help my young person?

Every young person faces their own unique set of challenges, and 1:1 coaching addresses these challenges in a way that works for them. Whether your young person struggles with focus, managing big emotions, or feeling overwhelmed by school and life, we’ll work together to identify practical strategies that align with their strengths and needs. Over time, your child will build confidence, emotional regulation skills, and a greater sense of self-trust.

My young person is already overwhelmed. How soon will they start feeling better?

It’s completely understandable to want to see immediate improvements, and while every child is different, the tools and strategies we work on together often help reduce overwhelm fairly quickly. Small shifts in mindset and approach can lead to noticeable changes within the first few sessions, but sustained results come as we continue to build confidence, resilience, and coping strategies over time. Progress may feel gradual, but with each session, your young person will develop a more robust toolkit for handling life’s ups and downs.

What is the difference between 1:1 coaching and the membership?

The BBL Membership offers self-paced content and a community environment, which is perfect for young people who are looking for a more flexible, group-based setting. On the other hand, 1:1 coaching is personalised and focused entirely on your young person’s individual goals and challenges, making it a more intensive, tailored approach. With 1:1 coaching, your young person will have the opportunity for more specific guidance and immediate feedback in every session.

Is 1:1 coaching suitable for young people who are neurodivergent?

Absolutely! Executive function coaching is a neuro-inclusive process, and works with your young person’s unique profile of strengths and challenges. Whether your young person is neurodivergent or has specific learning differences, the sessions are tailored to suit their individual needs and preferences.

How long are the 1:1 session, and how often do they occur?

Sessions typically last for 45 minutes, although they can be shorter or longer depending on your young person’s age and needs.

We start by scheduling the sessions weekly, with the plan to swap to fortnightly and then monthly sessions, once your young person is making progress on their goals and feels more capable of using the tools on their own.

How does hypnotherapy work with young people?

Children already spend a lot of their life in a hypnotic state.

The depth of their natural hypnosis depends on their age; with children under the age of 7 predominately in a theta brainwave state (equivelent to sleep or deep meditation), and from 7 to 12 years in alpha (light meditation or relaxation), and then over 12 moving into beta (focused consciousness).

This means that they are highly suggestable and respond well to hypnotherapy.

They don’t need to be guided into hypnosis, like an adult would, they can simply close their eyes and use their imagination.

I combine hypnotherapy with other evidence-based modalities like neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), tapping, positive psychology and mindset coaching to quickly and effectively make long-lasting changes.

How do I know if this is the right fit for my young person?

If your young person struggles with anxiety, overwhelm, or executive function challenges (such as focus, organisation, and time management), this could be a great fit. 1:1 coaching provides a supportive space to explore emotions, improve coping mechanisms, and develop long-term strategies that help them thrive.

If you’re unsure, book a free call to discuss your young person’s needs and goals, and how coaching could help.

Do I attend the session with my young person?

Before we have the first session, we can talk on the phone (or Zoom) to discuss whatever your young person would like help with, and you can ask any questions you may have.

Generally if the young person is under the age of 16, then a parent or guardian should attend with them, but please contact me if you have any concerns about this.

If you are staying for the session, my focus will be directed to your young person but you are very welcome to join in with the exercises and visualisations though!

How do I track my young person's progress?

We will work together to set clear goals and milestones and regularly track your young person’s progress against these metrics.

If you attend sessions with your young person, you’ll have visibility of all these metrics during the session.

If your young person has sessions on their own, then we will agree with them on which information they are happy to share, and this will be shared with you in order to track progress and ensure you have regular updates.

How do I get started?

Simply book a free call or contact me via email or message.

We’ll discuss your young person’s needs and goals, and answer any questions you have. You are also welcome to book a second free call for your young person to meet me too.

Once you’re ready to start, we’ll agree on a schedule for the sessions and book in the first session.

Do you offer sessions for adults?

Yes! Here is my main page where you can read all about my work with adults.
